Iron Galaxy

I’m sorry I haven’t  been posting as much. I’ve been grounded amongst other things. Tomorrow I’m off to Virginia to see my cousin get married, and hopefully come out to my aunt.

Bye!

A day at the races

Norway was fun. It went off a lot better then some other trips I’ve been on. The first few days we flew into Oslo and a nice plane ride. I usually get super ADD on long plane rides but I didn’t this time for some reason. We arrived and walked a few blocks to our hotel. After that we tried to go to museums but we were all way too tired to. Then we took a long ass train ride to some city with an unpronouncable name and stayed at a “Youth Hostel” which was basically a tiny hotel with old hags that bitch at you if you put your feet on the table. They lacked all the luxeries of a hote, but still had beds and blankets which was nice. Actual Norwegian law prohibits you from sleeping on the beds plainly, you have to have something called a “coccoon” which is basically like this cloth body bag that puts a layer between your skin and the matress in order to prevent the spread of infection or something. Ugh. Anyway, The next few days were just hotels and train rides. We stayed at a swanky best western one night which was fun. We finally got to the real hiking part of the trip, where we backpacked from hostel to hostel. The first day we walked along a paved road that was 5km to our first hostel. We stayed there overnight, and dropped some extra gear. The next day we went about eight miles to another hostel. Here they had something called a “torkroom” which was basically a little slice of hell where you would leave your clothes to dry for an hour or so and a big scary machine sucked all the humidity out of the air and raised the temperature to 120 degrees. Again, we stayed here overnight and went hiking the next day. This hike was like 13 miles and over a fucking mountain. It’s definitely the most exhausting hike I’ve ever been on. I met some nice ladies who gave me some trail mix along the way so it wasn’t all bad. The next two days were pretty much the same eight mile hikes. After that we took a short train ride to this big jamboree type thing where they had a bunch of Norwegian scouts and stuff. We stayed there for about a week. I mostly read “Atlas Shrugged”. Again, nothing too eventful.

It’s impossible to write when I’m tired >.<

And you know the candyman is back.

Hey.

I’ll write about my trip later when I’m not completly exhausted and have a chance to sleep in a place WHERE IT ACTUALLY GETS DARK AT NIGHT.
